From the base of Tropical Beach Resorts and Hotels, the 10 day tour will explore world's historic heritage and ecological sites alongGhana's dramatic 540 km stretch of coastline.
Day 1: (8.00pm)
Arrive in Accra and check into one of the country’s best hotels La Palm Royal and La Beach Hotels.
Day 2: (10.30am)
A tour of Accra, Ghana’s vibrant commercial administrative and political capital. Sites and attractions to be visited include: monuments and mausoleums, museums, traditional textile markets, arts and craft and curio shops. Day ends with a lavish African dinner with traditional dance and music.
Day 3: (9.00am)
Depart Accra for Central Region, driving along a coastal highway, viewing enroute interesting and quaint fishing villages backed by traditional clay ovens and clan monuments.
Arrive Cape Coast, the capital and tour:- The Cape Coast Castle: (1650's) the biggest of all the castles, fortified and enlarged by the Swedes. the West African Historical Museum.
Visit Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482.Taken over by the Dutch in 1637, it is the 1st substantial European building south of the Sahara. See the slave court yards, condemned cells, dungeons, the 1st ever Catholic Church in Ghana.
Visit The Fort St. Jago (built by the Dutch in 1638 as an arsenal to protect the Elmina Castle) which offers a panoramic view of the Elmina township and traditional fishing harbour. Overnight at Elmina Hotel
Day 4 (08.00am)
Visit Kakum National Park, A guided nature trail walk through rare, spectacular tropical flora species with interpretation of their medicinal and cultural uses.
A walk on “high places” for a bird’s eye view of the park from a tree top forest canopy walkway 40 meters above the ground (the first of its kind in Africa). Visit a typical African village to acquaint yourself with their way of life including farming, cottage industry, music and art forms.
Days 5-8
Will be spent at the Busua Beach Hotel for relaxation, beach combing, fishing and day excursions. Whole day rail travel from Takoradi to Tarkwa to explore under-ground gold mines and gold panning villages.
Visit Ankasa National Park , Nzulezu Lagoon Park, Boat Rides for Bird Viewing, Historic Forts and Fishing .Villages, Carnival Nights and Barbecue.
Days 9-10
We shall return to Accra for our 9th and 10th days to shop during the day, visit more art and curio shops and enjoy Accra's nightlife, including casinos, discos, eateries, live bad music and wrap it all up with the grand finale beach festival event..
