Foreign currency
There are no restrictions on the amount of foreign currency brought into the country but the amount should be noted on the Customs Declaration Form on arrival. Daily exchange rates are available at licensed forex bureaus, banks and hotels for cash and travelers cheques. Money transfer is available through the banks and Western Union outlets.

Passport & visa
A valid passport and visa is required for travel to Ghana. Ghana mission and embassies abroad issue individual as well as group visa. In the absence of a foreign mission, visas can be obtained on arrival at the airport.

A health certificate showing yellow fever vaccination. Consult your doctor in advance for an anti-malaria treatment before departure.

Social conduct & etiquette
Greet people by shaking the right hand. A handshake is the key to everything. Avoid the use of the left hand to greet and for other interactions with people. A welcome drink should always be accepted. Dress discreetly and appropriately. A gift of a bottle of local schnapps is appropriate when visiting a fetish shrine or a local chief or village elder.
